1. Down by the river
On the way to school,
We have to pass
By the paddling-pool.
The grass is green,
And the water cool,
And we stay to play
By the paddling-pool,
Down by the river
On the way to school.
नदी के निकट
विद्यालय जाने के रास्ते में,
हमें गुजरना होता है
पानी के एक छोटे-से तालाब की बगल से।
इसकी घास हरी है, तथा पानी ठंडा है,
और हम खेलने के लिए ठहरते हैं
उस छोटे-से तालाब की बगल में
यह नदी के निकट है।
तथा विद्यालय जाने के रास्ते में है।
Word-Meanings :
Pass ( पास ) – cross, गुज़रना पार करना।
Paddling-pool ( पैडलिंग-पुल ) – small water body, पानी का छोटा तालाब।
River ( रिवर ) – a water body with flowing water नदी।
Way ( वे ) – the path, रास्ता।
Summary
The poem is about Paddling-Pool. Children often come at this pool for enjoying. The grass is green near the pool and the water is very cool. This pool is located on the way to the school.
यह कविता पानी के एक छोटे-से तालाब के बारे में है। बच्चे अक्सर इसमें आनंद लेने के लिए आते हैं। तालाब के आस-पास की घास हरी है तथा पानी काफी ठंडा है। यह तालाब विद्यालय जाने के रास्ते में हैं।
