Stanza 1.
Wind: Sun, can you see that man
walking down the road? I can get his
coat off more quickly than you can!
Sun : (smiling). We will see who is
stronger. I will let you try first.
Hindi Translation
हवाः सूरज, क्या तुम नीचे सड़क पर चल रहे व्यक्ति को देख सकते हो? मैं तुमसे अधिक तेजी से उस व्यक्ति के कोट को उतार सकती हैं।
सरजः ( मुस्कराते हुए ) हम देखेंगे कि कौन ताकतवर है। में पहला मौका तुम्हें दूंगा।
Word-Meanings :
Walking (वाकिंग)-moving slowly, is an
Road ( रोड़ )—way to reach somewhere सड़क
Coat (कोट)—a piece of garment worn over the shirt, कोट
Quickly (क्विकलि)—fastly, जल्दी से।
Stronger (स्ट्रांगर).—more powerful, अधिक शक्तिशाली।
Stanza 2.
Wind: (Pulling his cheeks and
blowing hard): Whooooooo…….
Whoooooooooh!
Man: How strong the wind is today!
It is blowing my coat away! I must
hold it tightly round myself.
Wind: (blowing harder)

Hindi Translation
हवाः (अपने गाल को फुलाकर तेजी से फैंक मारते हुए) व्हू ………..। व्हू …………..।
आदमीः आज कितनी तेज हवा चल रही हैं? मेरा कोट उड़ रहा है। मुझे अब कसकर इसे पकड़ लेना चाहिए।
हवाः (और तेज़ बहते हुए) : व्हू ………। व्हू ………….।

Cheeks ( चीक्स ) -a soft part of face, गाल।
Blowing ( ब्लोइंग ) -moving of air हवा का चलना।
Tightly ( टाइटलि )firmly, कसकर।
Stanza 3.
Man : (pulling his coat more tightly) How cold it is!
Wind: Sun, I give up. I cannot get
his coat off! Sun: Now it is my turn.
Let me try. (He shines hard.)
Man: What a funny day! It was so
cold and now it is so hot!

आदमीः (अपने कोट को और कसकर खींचते हुए) कितनी सर्दी है।
हवाः सुरज, मैं हार गई। मैं उस आदमी का कोट नहीं। उतरवा सकी।
सूरजः अब मेरी बारी हैं मुझे प्रयास करने दो (वह तेजी से चमकता है।)
आदमीः कैसा अनोखा दिन है! अभी कितनी ठंड थी। और अभी कितनी गरमी!
word-Meanings :
Pulling ( पुलिंग ) -taking in, अंदर खींचते हुए,
Shines ( शाइन्स )producing bright light, चमकता है।
Stanza 4.
Sun: (shining harder) I will make
him feel hotter and hotter.
Man: (wiping his face) I must take
off my coat!
Sun: Wind, I have won. I have made ,
him take off his coat!
Hindi Translation
सूरजः (और तेज़ चमकते हुए) मैं उसे खूब गरमी महसूस कराऊँग।
आदमीः (अपने चेहरे को पोंछते हुए) मुझे अपना कोट उतारना पड़ेगा।
सूरजः हवा, मैं जीत गया। मैंने उसका कोट उतरवा दिया।
Word-Meanings :
Hotter ( हॉटर ) -more hot, और गरम।
Wiping ( वाइपिंग ) -rubbing with handkerchief, रुमाल से पोंछते हुए।
Summary In English
This story is about the quaral between wind and the sun. They both want to show their superiority. For this they choose a man walking down the road. That man was wearing a coat.
Wind claims that I am more powerful and can remove his coat more quickly.
To prove that, wind started blowing at a very fast speed but the man holds his coat tightly. At last wind was unable to get off the mans coat.
On the other hand sun begins to shine harder and suddenly it begins to grow hot. The man was unable to bear the heat so he removed his coat at last the sun wins easily.
